USAID Helps Hotels in the East Improve their Competitiveness

 

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is improving competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the tourism sector in the Eastern Province. Four training sessions for hotels entitled "Hospitality Operation from Basics to the Forefront: Setting Standards & Improvements" were conducted in Ampara, Arugam Bay, Batticaloa and Trincomalee with nearly 100 participants from 45 hotels.

U.S Government Introduces New Technologies to Fishermen in Trincomalee

 

The U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) is providing support to more than 500 fishermen from nine cooperative societies in Trincomalee. The fishermen's incomes are improving through USAID's support in establishing partnerships, creating market linkages, and providing training and the necessary equipment to improve their harvests.
